This blog is a record of workarounds for cooking and living with Alpha-gal syndrome.
I spent over 15 years working as a line cook in kitchens, cooking privately for clients with complex dietary restrictions, and studying plants.
After developing AGS, I had to adapt to my allergy and rethink how I cooked and stocked a kitchen. I'm documenting it so people with AGS or caretakers of people with AGS don't have to do so much work to feed themselves safely and can, instead, focus on enjoying food.
I am not a medical professional; my mission is simply to make cooking and eating more accessible for our community. There are other sites with information about symptoms, diagnosis, etc.
Doctors are a great resource, even if many of them are still learning about this condition.
